For your stay at Villa Guinigi or the village of Matraia in Lucca, here you’ll find all the benefits and services we offer.

How many apartments does the property have?

The property, nestled amongst the green hills of Lucca, comprises the historic Villa Guinigi, situated within a larger historic complex that also includes the village of Matraia. Guests have access to 22 apartments of various sizes, located both in the village and within the villa, ideal for couples, families or small groups. Each unit is fully equipped and designed to ensure privacy, comfort and an authentic stay in the heart of Tuscany.

Is breakfast included in the stay?

Breakfast is not included in the stay but is available on request at a cost of €10.00 per person per day. The breakfast box you order will be delivered by our staff directly to your apartment every morning. You must book this service at reception by the previous day.

Do you have Wi-Fi on the premises?

Yes, Wi-Fi is free and available in all apartments and in the communal areas of the property.

Is there parking available on site?

Yes, there is one allocated parking space for each apartment. Additional parking spaces can be reserved on request at a cost of €10.00 per day.

Can I bring a pet?

Of course, pets are welcome! A €50.00 surcharge applies for the final clean. Please do let us know if you’ll be bringing a pet when you book.

Early check-out: is this possible?

If you are leaving early in the morning, you can leave the keys inside the apartment. However, you must notify reception in advance so that the staff can complete the check-out procedures the day before.

Are transfers available from Pisa or Florence airports?

Yes, on request and for an additional charge, we can arrange a private transfer from Pisa, Florence or any other Italian airport directly to the property.

What activities are available in the area around Villa Guinigi?

The area is ideal for an active holiday surrounded by nature. Our Concierge and Reception are at your disposal to organise (with or without a private transfer) activities such as:

Cycling: routes through the hills, vineyards and historic villages.
Hiking and trekking: scenic trails surrounded by greenery.
Food and wine: tastings of wines and typical Tuscan products.
• Culture: visits to Lucca and nearby cities of art.
Families: theme parks and adventure parks nearby.



Where can I have lunch or dinner?

There are several restaurants and traditional trattorias in the local area. The reception team will be happy to recommend the best options and to arrange bookings and transport if required.

What are the reception opening hours?

During opening hours, there will always be a member of staff at reception to assist you with any queries. 

Reception opening hours:
• From 15 April to 14 October: 09:00 to 20:00.
• From 15 October to 14 April: 09:00 to 13:00 (with the option of afternoon check-in by appointment). Closed on Wednesdays.

What are the swimming pool’s opening hours?

The swimming pool at Villa Guinigi is open from 1 May to 30 September, from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm. The management may decide to open the pool earlier or keep it open later depending on the weather conditions. For confirmation, we recommend contacting reception before your arrival.
